This was based on a litigation on the Optionally Fully Convertible Debentures issued by the two companies of Sahara India Pariwar towards which the jurisdiction by the Securities and Exchange Board of India had claimed and objected why Sahara had not come to them for permission. On June 14, 2012, (during the last hearing of the case), it provided its financials up to April 30, 2012. While reserving judgment, Sahara claims to have already repaid 95% of the investors, and discharged its OFCD liability of ₹23,500 crore, while only around ₹2,260 crore remain outstanding, against which Sahara has deposited more than ₹12,000 crore, which swells with interest to ₹16,000 crore.
